Ape Co Strength & Mobility: From Research to Practice

For Teachers, Coaches, and Practitioners

Join us for a 6 -hour immersive seminar dedicated to understanding how strength and mobility truly work — not as separate drills and excersizes, but as one integrated philosophy.
This weekend blends research-based insights with hands-on application to help you refine your training, expand your coaching tools, and uncover what’s holding you or you student’s practice back.

You’ll leave with a clear framework for how to:

  • Theory to train mobility and strength effectively toward your goals.

  • Identify and address the real limitations behind stalled progress.

  • Connect mobility and strength to higher-skill movement: acrobatics, handstands, and beyond.

  • Bridge scientific understanding with lived, experience.

This workshop is perfect for:

  • Teachers and coaches seeking to integrate strength and mobility more intelligently in their programs.

  • Practitioners who want to understand their body’s mechanics on a deeper level.

What to Expect

This weekend is equal parts learning, training, and discovery. You’ll spend time both on the floor and in conversation, bridging the gap between what science shows and how to actually apply in Practice.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Integrated Learning – Each concept is paired with practical application. You’ll move, lift, assess, and discuss — not just take notes.

  • Individual Attention – Whether you’re a teacher or practitioner, you’ll receive guidance relevant to your background and goals.

  • Real Training Sessions – This isn’t a demo-style seminar. You’ll train under experienced eyes and leave with a clearer understanding of your own body’s current limits and potential.

  • Research Meets Real Life – We’ll explore how current movement science supports — and sometimes challenges — what we see in practice.

  • Community & Connection – Expect to meet other dedicated movers, coaches, and teachers who share the same curiosity about what’s possible in the human body.

You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how to train and teach strength and mobility more intelligently — and a renewed sense of direction in your own practice.

Who It’s For

This workshop is built for practitioners, teachers, and coaches who already have experience in movement, fitness, or physical practice — and want to refine how they train and teach.

It’s ideal for those who:

  • Have a consistent training practice and want to understand the “why” behind what they’re doing.

  • Teach or coach others and want to improve their ability to assess and progress students.

  • Feel stuck in plateaus and want a clearer map for improving strength, mobility, and skill.

  • Value evidence-based training and are curious about the principles that connect mobility work, strength training, and advanced skill development.

Who It’s Not For

This workshop isn’t a beginner’s introduction to movement or exercise.
If you’re brand new to training, still learning basic strength movements, or have limited experience with mobility work, the material may move too quickly to be useful.

Our goal is to meet you where you are — and make sure you get the most out of your time and investment.
If you’re early in your movement journey, we recommend beginning with 20-30 of our strength and mobility classes before joining this intensive.

YOUR TEACHERS

  • Robert brings over a decade of teaching experience and a deep understanding of human physiology and movement science.
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, his work bridges evidence-based training with the art of real-world application.

Robert helps practitioners and coaches identify where strength or mobility limitations are holding back skill development — and how to design training that moves past those plateaus.

His teaching balances clarity, precision, and practicality, helping participants not just learn about movement, but transform the way they train and teach.

  • Matt has spent over 15 years teaching people how to move, beginning his journey in 2008 after earning a BS in Kinesiology. His mission is simple: to remind people they’re far more capable in their bodies than they imagine.

He’s taught thousands — from beginners to professionals — including Oscar Isaac (Star Wars, Dune) and Jake Lacy (The Office, White Lotus).
Matt was a lead teacher for Ido Portal’s US Seminars, a former CrossFit HQ coach, and brings experience as a professional firefighter and ski patroller.

He’s currently a student in Marcello Palozzo’s Human Movement Studies Program and continues to refine his craft while running Ape Co — a community dedicated to helping people rediscover the joy of capability.

When not teaching, Matt can be found climbing, skiing, and moving with his wife and three energetic kids in the Colorado mountains.
